Frequently Asked Questions

Didn't Firedog go out of business? Is this related?

Yes and No. Circuit City, which was using the name “Firedog” to deliver installation and support services to its customers, went out of business. During Circuit City’s liquidation in 2009, Flextronics purchased only the Firedog name and has launched its own “Firedog” service offering for the benefit of all consumers and small business owners looking for an unparalleled service experience at a reasonable price. We did not acquire any of the customers or obligations related Circuit City’s Firedog business. We will, of course, be responsible for any service provided to new customers under Flextronics’ Firedog business.

Will Firedog honor warranties or services purchased from Circuit City and branded Firedog?

Unfortunately, the new Firedog services do not cover prior service warranties from Circuit City’s Firedog.

I've never heard of Flextronics. Who are they?

Flextronics (NASDAQ: FLEX) is one of the largest electronics manufacturing service companies in the world. With over 40 years of experience in designing, building, and supporting some of the best known brands in the electronics industry, we understand electronics because we build them.

Is the re-launched Firedog different?

Firedog has always been committed to the highest levels of service. That hasn't changed. But Firedog is different in some very important ways. Unlike before, Firedog does not belong to a retailer. Now, our service organization can focus on you. Our service experts can be trusted to provide unbiased advice for your benefit, not a retailer's.

I have seen other services that claim to be “powered by Firedog.” Are they the same thing?

Flextronics has a long history of partnering with its clients to deliver products and services under the clients' brands. Our support services are no different. While you can interact directly with Firedog through this web site, the same technical expertise can be purchased from the convenience of your favorite retailer, wireless carrier, or cable operator at very competitive prices. These partners know that powering their service offerings with Firedog is the best way to assure their customers' satisfaction (they cut some pretty good deals too and pass the savings on to you).

I'm a small business, can I use Firedog as my “local tech support center?”

We hope you will! A business's support needs are unique. At Firedog, we have service offerings that have been developed with the small business in mind. Check out our small business site for more details.

My service needs are complex. I can't find the right service offering on your website. What should I do?

You have two choices. You can order a consultation right from our website where an expert will arrive at your home or office and let you know what your options are. You are under no obligation to buy more services and you can even use the consultation to shop for help with the “power of information.” But if you do choose to follow our expert's advice, you can rest assured that you will pay nothing of the initial consult because 100% of that fee will be credited towards any services we provide. If you don't want to commit to a consultation, simply pick up the phone to speak with one of our agents. The call is always free
